Tips – Engagement Photo FAQs

Engagement Photo FAQs

Once you get engaged, the wedding planning starts, but what most couples don’t realize is how quickly the engagement photos sometimes need to get taken! If you are camera shy, like me, you might have some big questions and need some big answers. Here is where this engagement photo FAQs post will come in handy!

Q: I HATE having my photo taken! How do I relax for my engagement photos?

A: The biggest thing you can do is go on a few coffee dates with 2-3 photographers and see who you naturally feel comfortable with. Then when you decide who you will utilize, be honest with them. They can help coach you through feeling more comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Remember to have FUN with your fiancé! Be silly and show the love you have for one another and it will outshine the awkwardness you might be feeling.

Q: How do I decide where to take my engagement photos?

A: Have it be somewhere that means something to the two of you. Where did you meet or where was your first date? What hobbies do you enjoy doing together? This can help the photographer know where and what style you are looking to have for the engagement session. Don’t forget to take into consideration the time of year that your engagement photos are taking place.

Q: What do I wear?!?!?!?

A: Be comfortable! If you are already nervous about getting your pictures taken, it won’t help if you don’t feel comfortable in your own clothes. Go get your hair and makeup done so you feel glamorous. Find outfits that compliment each other so make sure to avoid the matchy-matchy look.

Pinterest is a great resource to find images of what other couples have done in the past. If you see something you like, try to replicate it but put your own twist on it. Or hire a wedding planner to help style your photo session!

What are some concerns or great ideas that you have regarding your engagement photos?
